The Pierre Hotel New York

The Pierre, the iconic flagship of Taj Hotels on New York's Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park, re-opened on June 1, 2009 following a meticulous $100 million renovation to create new guestroom and bath interiors and reconfigure first floor public areas to include London's classic brasserie, Le Caprice and Two E Bar/Lounge, the residential-style lounge by day and stylish bar by night.

The first phase of the Pierre renovation was completed in January 2007, and included the Grand Ballroom, the Cotillion Room & Foyer. All banquet and meeting rooms are open, fully staffed and operative throughout the second phase of the renovation.

Even in a city where exclusive luxuries are the norm, there is one hotel that is far more rare and special than the rest. Possessing a fabled Central Park location in Midtown Manhattan and legendary history, The Pierre continues to set the standard for elegance and unrivalled hospitality.

The Pierre features the newest and most inviting guestrooms in the city. Staff outnumbers guests by a ratio of three to one, allowing us to focus on anticipating a guest's every need. London's classic, Le Caprice, captivates New Yorkers at The Pierre with its signature European dishes created for the American palette.

The Pierre is one of New York's most iconic hotels and the Taj group have done a wonderful job in restoring the property to its former glory, with new refurb. and with perfect rooms and clean rooms, well appointed, bathrooms all new , great air con. and everything else you would expect from 5 star hotel.

The location on the park at 61st street is as good as gets in NYC, great location, directly across from the Park and close to shopping on Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, right next to Barneys, simply the location of the hotel is unbeatable. 

When you enter you will feel the lovely marble lobby atmosphere, with crown moldings which can be found throughout the hotel. Check in is fast and easy done by the very charming staff that you will come across throughout the hotel. When you will be escorted to your room, you will notice that the hotel still maintains its 'old-world' charm by the best elevator operators ever! Futher you see that the hotel has maintained most of the architectural details during its recent renovation, they still have a functional mail chute!

In all every staff member you encounter is very friendly, professional, and actually take care about the quality of the guest's stay. 

The rooms are classic yet contemporary feel in the rooms with nice wallpaper  with beautiful furniture of a quality that I am not used to seeing in hotel rooms. You will also be impressed with how the bathrooms have been reconfigured. 

The GRAND Suite is hudge! It has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen...! you can actually run a lap around the dining room table. Just when you settle in, a room service will arrive with a welcome amenity of fruits, chocolate and caramel popcorn. The Pierre is a true pampering experience. 

The Getty Suite makes you feel like royalty. The suite will exceeded your expectations and is beyond comparison. It has a HUGE balcony and luxurious pillows, couches, bed, bathroom amenitites, boise surround system, and impecable service. Very clean and plush carpeting. The bathroom is spacious. 

The "Signature Room" which is also huge (three closets!) and extremely quiet, luxurious and serene. The room is on the twelfth floor and overlooked a corner of the Park and the Plaza Hotel. The room is amazing with all the high-end perks you'd expect and then some.

Housekeeping is amazing, they go the extra mile.

The beds are also the most comfortable beds you will  sleep like an angel. The bathroom are fabulous with seperate tub and fully enclosed rain shower, you will never wanted to step out of. The bathroom toiletteries, molten brown, and the shower water pressure is great! 

The room service menu is great and the food the best you will ever have delivered to your hotel room. Try out the gourmet breakfast in your room near the window overlooking Central Park - it doesn't get any better than that.

The new restaurant Caprice and the new lobby bar are quite the hot spots as both are busy well into the evening, even on nights earlier in the week, understandable because a dinner at le Caprice is a joy, with their great food, fantastic ambiance, in all a great value for money. Try the Gin Gin. It has fresh cucumbers and it is amazing, this drink is a real hit all around. 

The Pierre is a once-in-a-lifetime stay!
